appar. n.pr.loc., only in וְדָן וְיָוָן Ezekiel 27:19 Wedān and Yāwān (cf. VB and reff.) but identif. wholly dub.; = Waddân near Medina according to Glas^{Skizze ii. 428}: 𝔊 om.; text prob. corrupt, cf. Sta ^{Javan. 11. ff.} Da al.; Ew Hi read דְּדָן, but דְּדָן is in following v., and anticipation improb., cf. Sta^l.c.; Co reads (for ודן ויון) וְאַרְנָבָן, on the basis of Bab. & Assyrian Aranabanim, Arnabani, n.pr.loc., following Ḫilbunim (חֶלְבּוֹן) in lists of places whence wine was brought (cf. יֵין חֶלְבּוֹן v Ezekiel 27:18, & 𝔊 καὶ οἶνον for ויון; also COT Ezekiel 27:18).

appar. n.pr.loc., אֶת־וָהֵב בְּסוּפָה Numbers 21:14, obj. of a vb. now lost out of the text (cf. RV & especially Di VB) situation unknown; 𝔊 Ζωοβ, Ζοοβ; so Lag^{BN 54} Say ^{Ac. Oct. 22, 1892} (זָהָב).

(√ of foll.; cf. Arabic وَزَرَ bear a burden, or وَزِرَ be guilty, yet v. Fl in De Proverbs 21:8).

adj. criminal, guilty הֲפַכְפַּךְ דֶּרֶךְ אִישׁ וָזָ֑ר Proverbs 21:8 crooked is the way of a guilty man (si vera l.; text dub.; possible dittogr. in ?וָזָר וְזַךְ?).
